Creativity Keystones: the Essential Elements

The literal meaning of keystone is the essential architectural piece at the crown of an arch which locks the other pieces into position and holds the arch in place. The figurative use of the term keystone refers to a central aspect of a larger framework or system without which the whole structure would collapse.

When one applies this concept to creativity, these seven keystones are the elements which lead to a passionate, fulfilling and joyful life.

Keystone One: Creativity is a process of fully engaging with your Self. You feel a sense of timelessness, and a connection to the source of All That Is. This is the inner journey.

Keystone Two: What you are creating is being called by those who want it. This is the outward journey. If you have been inspired to create, someone or something is calling your idea forth.

Keystone Three: Creative activity increases your energy. Some actions or people can deplete your energy. Creative pursuits will top up your energy supply and enable you to deal with daily living with flair and composure.

Keystone Four: Creativity generates inspired action leading to a particular outcome. Instead of making a list of actions and then checking them off one by one, your actions are determined by the creative process and by your own inner guidance. This is where you fuel your determination to complete your project.

Keystone Five: You will have everything you need to manifest your idea. When you are inspired and your idea is persistently in your consciousness, you have the capacity to take the idea from spark to finish. With a truly passionate vision, you will attract all the resources and people you need.

Keystone Six: Creativity increases productivity. Creativity makes life seem like more of an adventure. You can go into each day with anticipation. Have more fun and get more done.

Keystone Seven: Creativity bridges your unique essence and the form through which you express that essence in the physical world. Your essence is who you are, the constant unchanging YOU. The form is the way you express it. Eg, A writer expresses his or her essence in the ideas which are put into words. The form is a blog or a published book.
